Tree nurseries

To counteract the deforestation actively SMECAO is working together with four Primary-, three Secondary-Schools and four community groups in Same/ Mwanga district to establish tree nurseries. By providing the schools with materials and knowledge about the right soil and sorts of trees SMECAO helps the schools to start their activities. Later on the school should be able to act independently by selling their trees.

For example Ntarrishwa community group managed to raise and plant about 6500 trees in the year 2011.
